Waabi just secured a funding round from prominent investors to advance its autonomous vehicles. Waabi is a leader in the autonomous vehicle industry with it’s advanced autonmous trucking and robotaxi fleet.

Unlike traditional autonomous vehicle companies that build separate systems for different vehicles, Waabi’s platform uses a single AI model to power both semi-trucks and passenger cars. Waabi’s platform rivals the world’s most advanced neural simulator, the system trains primarily in a high fidelity virtual environment, allowing it to reason through complex scenarios before hitting the pavement. This shared brain approach allows Waabi to scale rapidly across different geographies and vehicles without starting from scratch.

Waabi is expanding from autonomous trucking to robotaxis. Waabi has entered into an agreement with Uber to deploy its technology on the ride hailing platform. Uber is also committing more capital to Waabi to help it deploy up to 25000 robotaxis on the ride hailing platform.

This move positions Waabi as a direct competitor to incumbents like Waymo, leveraging its simulation-heavy AI to bypass the need for massive, expensive physical test fleets.
