Nokia is significantly expanding its “Network as code” ecosystem, a move aimed at making complex telecommunications infrastructure more accessible to developers. By partnering with over 75 global major carriers including Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, and Telefónica, Nokia is championing for a standardized approach to network application programming interfaces (APIs). These APIs allow developers to access network functions without the need to understand complex hardware technicalities.

Nokia will be partnering with Google Cloud to integrate agentic AI capabilities into the platform. This integration would allow enterprise AI agents to interact directly with the network, making it more programmable and consumable for automated tasks.

Since its inception in 2023, the project has already seen real world applications in sectors such as healthcare, automotive and banking. By aligning with industry standards such as the GSMA Open Gateway, Nokia is positioning its infrastructure as a central hub for the next wave of digital innovation across various industries.
