Atkins Realis and NVDIA have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at designing and deploying large scale, nuclear powered AI factories. The partnership seeks to address surging global demand for AI infrastructure, which is currently outpacing available energy supplies, by providing nuclear energy as a reliable low carbon baseload for massive data centers.

Under the partnership, Atkins Realis will be harnessing its 70 year legacy in nuclear engineering and its status as the exclusive licensee of CANDU technology to explore how standardized nuclear solutions can be integrated directly into data center hubs. To optimize the project, the company will be using NVDIA’s Omniverse platform and OpenUSD framework. These tools allow engineers to develop high-fidelity 3D digital twins, enabling them to simulate and design infrastructure in a virtual environment before physical construction begins.

The collaboration also focuses on modernizing project delivery through the use of NVDIA’s accelerated computing and agentic AI. Atkins Realis aims to streamline engineering workflows, shorten construction timelines and enhance safety protocols. Additionally, the companies will collaborate to determine how advanced power distribution and cooling systems can be tailored to support the intensive workloads of next generation compute.

Ultimately, the partnership combines NVIDIA’s leadership in AI infrastructure with Atkins Realis expertise in energy and complex project execution to create a scalable blueprint for the future of industrial-scale artificial intelligence.
