Its revolutionary Superpower, a 42 Megawatt gas turbine engine will be used to power AI data centers while achieving supersonic flight. Crusoe, an AI provider has ordered 29 Superpower units, totaling 1.21 gigawatts of capacity, with an order amount of $1.25 billion. The company plans to scale its infrastructure to achieve 4 gigawatts of annual output by 2030.

The gas turbine is a 42 Megawatt natural gas engine packed in a shipping container style unit. Superpower is able to maintain full power output even in extreme temperatures over 110°F. It is capable of waterless operation, not requiring any water for cooling, making it specifically suitable for dry and arid regions. It also runs on environmentally friendlier natural gas, with backup diesel capability.

Revenues from the Superpower turbines will be used to fund development and delivery of its Overture supersonic airplane. The turbine business will be able to provide crucial engine data even before it takes flight.

As of now Boom Supersonic has 130 orders on its aircraft, including orders from United Airlines, American Airlines and Japan Airlines. 95% of the Superpower jet engine is manufactured in the US, bringing back business to the American economy.
