Torq secures funding round to revolutionize cybersecurity

Torq cybersecurity AI

Torq positions itself as a “turn-key” solution, the “beating heart” of the modern security stack. Their goal is to provide a fully autonomous platform that transforms cybersecurity teams from reactive responders to proactive agents.

The announcement indicates a watershed moment in the industry, transitioning from legacy Security Operations Centers(SOC) toward an agentic SOC. Torq is moving beyond traditional Secrurity Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR), to a completely agentic AI environment. Instead of just being a tool that cybersecurity teams use, the platform aims to deliver operational autonomy. This entails AI agents responding to complex investigations, allowing human operators to focus on higher level strategy rather than being buried by alert fatigue.

Their agents are already being used by major companies such as PepsiCo, Siemens and Uber. Valvoline suggests that they were able to deploy Torq’s AI agents in as little as 48 hours, automating phishing triage.

With the new capital, Torq plans to accelerate innovation, speeding up the development of their hyperautomation capabilities. A milestone in the chapter is focusing on entering the US Federal and Public Sector markets, navigating the complex FedRamp certification process to protect the nations critical infrastructure.

Torq’s platform seems to be an innovative solution to tedious cybersecurity work. But there are concerns to be raised when delegating management decisions to agents. Are we creating a quagmire of our own or are we progressing in innovation. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
